Rental

Bobo Campers currently has about 100 vehicles in their fleet.  No vehicle is older than 2005 - the only camper rental company to make this claim.

Camper models to choose from are the Nissan-based Discoverer 2, the Iveco-based Discoverer 4, the Mercedes-based Discoverer 5, the Iveco-based Discoverer 6, and the new Nissan-based 4.2 lt Discoverer X 4x4  Rental vehicles can be used for:

• Individual rental;
• Individual tours (FIT); and
• Group tours with English and Dutch speaking tour leading couples.

FIT tours (organized individual self-drive tours)

Tailor-made tours for individual camper hire, including campsite reservations and tour bookings.  Tours range from 14 to 31 days but can be adapted to suit individual needs. Tour itineraries range from: Johannesburg - Johannesburg

Johannesburg - Cape Town or vice-versa

Cape Town - Cape Town

Windhoek - Windhoek

Cape Town - Windhoek or vice-versa

Transfers

Our staff will meet the group at the airport and provide transport to our rental station for a cup of coffee and the hand-over. At the end of the tour we provide transport back to the airport.

Hotel accommodation

During the JNB-JNB or JNB-CPT tours we have made provision for a one night stay in a hotel.  This hotel accommodation is a luxury "rondavel" located in Shakaland.  Shakaland, an experience of the Zulu culture with lots of fun/dance and excellent food together with a good night sleep.

Fully equipped motorhome

The standard vehicle included in this price is a 6.7 metre, turbo diesel engine motorhome, the Discoverer 4. These vehicles are easy to drive and to park. They are also ideal for exploring Africa, especially with the panoramic window in the back.  All vehicles are equipped with bedding, towels, kitchen utensils, radio/ CD, picnic table and chairs.  Each vehicle also has hot water, a stove, fridge, toilet, full air conditioning and microwave.

Unlimited mileage

There are no additional charges for miles driven.

Motorhome insurance

For FIT tours, the vehicles are insured with a 27,500 ZAR excess.  To have the vehicle fully insured, take out a CDW policy.

Camping Parks

All fees are paid for, and each campsite has power points.  Parks are carefully selected based on location and facilities that are the finest in Africa.

Road maps and books

Each party receives a detailed road map and a day-to-day itinerary that is carefully selected by Bert and Greet Bouwers, co-owners of Bobo Campers, and based on their 15 year camper experience.  Places along the way are highlighted with convenient rest stops and shopping opportunities also pointed out.

Excluded fees

Admission fees for game parks, all fuel, food and drinks and toll fees, as described in the tour itinerary, are excluded. Buffet dinner and breakfast, coffees and teas at Shakaland are part of the tour price.

Locations

Bobo Campers currently has three depots: Kempton Park in Johannesburg; Atlantis in Cape Town; and Windhoek, Namibia.  Campers can also be dropped-off and picked-up in any location throughout South Africa for a fee.  All depots have competent maintenance, cleaning and supervisory personnel.  7-day, 24-hour stand-by personnel are always available for medical, mechanical or other problems that could arise in an unlikely event.
